Myth#1:  The homeless are lazy.

Fact: 29% of regions homeless are actually employed.

Myth#2: It couldn't happen to me.

Fact:  The homeless of our region represents every age, race, education level and social background-both men and women.  Often only one or two decisions or twists of fate were needed to change their lives forever.

Myth#3: The homeless are just drug addicts or alcoholics.

Fact:  While many do struggle with alcohol and substance abuse problems,  these often arise from attempts to self-medicate deeper emotional and mental issues.  This is to be expected considering that 80% of our regions homeless suffer from mental illness.
